Blitz Clients
During our 44th annual Blitz event, seniors and individuals with disabilities can sign-up to have a team of Project Warm volunteers come out to their home and put up weatherizing window plastic for free. The 2026 Blitz will take place on both Saturday, November 7th and Saturday, November 14th. To qualify to receive FREE weatherizing window plastic during the 2026 Blitz, participants must meet the following qualifications:
- Live in Jefferson County
- Be aged 60+ and/or have a verified disability
- Be an active LG&E number
- Be able to provide the current 12-digit LG&E number for the household
- Be able to have at least one adult aged 18+ in the home on the day of your Blitz service

Blitz Volunteer Teams
The 2026 Annual Blitz event will take place Saturday, November 7th and Saturday, November 14th. During the Blitz, volunteer teams of 3-6 visit the homes of elder and disabled residents of Jefferson County and apply weatherizing plastic to the windows of their homes. Volunteers arrive at the Project Warm office between 9AM and 10AM and the event is expected to be over by the early afternoon.
Blitz volunteers MUST sign up in teams. Each volunteer team will choose someone to be their team leader. Team leaders must be someone who is age 18+ and has a valid drivers license. Project Warm will communicate directly with team leaders to provide event information and training. Team leaders are responsible for communicating all information and instructions to their team members prior to the event. All Blitz team members must be aged 14+.
